Low Blueberry Yields, Cane Collapse Due To Winter Injury

In the latest Penn State University Extension bulletin, Kathleen Demchak, senior Extension associate, indicates that many Pennsylvania berry growers are seeing plants with few leaves and berries ranging from normal to very small.

“This problem occurred over the entire state, as well as throughout the Northeastern U.S. and westward to Michigan,” Demchak writes. “The widespread occurrence of this problem is a pretty good indication that this was a weather-related problem.”
