New Cooperative To Accept 4,500 Tons Of Grapes

The Dunkirk (NY) Observer reports that Lake Erie Fruit Cooperative will accept 4,500 tons of grapes grown in the Chautauqua and Erie counties of New York and Erie County in Pennsylvania this season. Members of this newly-formed cooperative are comprised of growers from the Lake Erie region.

The most common variety is Concord, but Niagara, Catawba, Organic Concord, and certain winegrapes will also be accepted on a smaller scale.

Grapes will be contracted on a tonnage basis per member.
