‘Acclaim Improved’ is a large, solid hybrid green cabbage. It has uniform heads, and works best in the spring slot. Widely adapted. Matures in 75 days.
‘Accolade’ is an early hybrid green cabbage variety. It’s very uniform, has a strong frame with good wrap. An upright plant habit for ease of harvest and less lodging. The heads have good fill and resist cracking. Matures in 65 days.
‘Applause’ is a new boxing or slaw cabbage with exceptional black rot tolerance. The perfectly round and uniform heads have a short core and great flavor. The average weight is 3 to 6 pound heads, dependent on spacing. Plants are erect and a strong stem hold heads off the ground. It is extra good for slaw since the leaves are not ribby. ‘Applause’ has looked good in the Southeast, both for fall and spring. Texas also looks good and we expect it to perform well throughout the Northeast. Matures in 78 days.
Outstanding field performance. Now a Harris Seeds exclusive, ‘Bravo’ cabbage, performs well from the Deep South in winter, to the North in summer. The large, round cabbage heads are uniform and a beautiful, blue-green color. Use close spacing (10 to 12 inches) for market and wide spacing (18 to 24 inches) for sauerkraut. Matures in 85 days.
A strong root system keeps ‘Brennan’ looking fancy and uniform when crowded or stressed by too much rain. ‘Brennan’ is Bronco type with improved black rot tolerance and a slightly more compact. A medium-large, waxy dark-green. ‘Brennan’ is widely adapted with a short core and a dense interior. It’s great for the RPC business, as it is a smaller very dense head. Great hybrid for fresh market. Matures in 78 days.
‘Commander’ has excellent internal layering and a smooth external texture. It has a slightly flattened head, an attractive dark-green color, and adapts to different planting densities. This hybrid has excellent field holding and mid-term storage potential. The head weight is approximately 4.5 pounds and sits high on the stem, prevents lodging and making it suitable for machine harvesting. Matures approximately 110 days from transplant.
Conqueror F1 (Bejo Seeds, Inc., Osborne Quality Seeds)
‘Conqueror F1’ is an early fresh market cabbage. It has excellent weight and density with good size and flavor. The large heads are very uniform, with a short core and good wrap. The plants have a tall frame. ‘Conqueror F1’ has a nice green appearance with good field holding for an early variety. Matures in 67 days.
Region: Performs well in the East, Southeast, and for overwintering crops in California.
‘Farao’ is a delicious early cabbage, with an attractive, deep-green color. The 3 pound heads are filled with tender, thin, crisp, peppery-sweet leaves. It holds well in the field and is slow to split. ‘Farao’ is available as USDA certified organic and conventional seeds. A nice variety for fresh market. Matures in 65 days.
Grand Vantage (Sakata Seed America, Gowan Seed Company)
‘Grand Vantage’ is a hybrid green cabbage, with a strong frame, tight wrapper leaves and excellent holding ability. It has attractive, round, and dense solid heads. Matures in 80 to 85 days.
An early, green, flat hybrid cabbage that is resistant to club root and black rot. ‘Green Prime’ has an attractive internal color, thin leaves and great taste. The head weighs approximately 5 pounds. A very uniform plant habit and head shape, good field holding that resists cracking. Matures about 60 days after transplant.
‘Integro’ is a mid-late red cabbage with good flavor. The medium-size heads have a uniform high-round shape, with a short core. The leaves are thick and crisp, but not tough. It’s long-standing in the field, and average weight is 4 to 5 pounds. USDA certified organic seeds. Matures in 85 days.
‘Manessa RZ’is a green cabbage with a voluminous round head and a weight range of 1.7 to 4.0 kilograms. ‘Manessa RZ’s ’ strong vigor ensures an early maturity for both fresh market and processing.
