‘Applause’ is a new boxing or slaw cabbage with exceptional black rot tolerance. The perfectly round and uniform heads have a short core and great flavor. The average weight is 3 to 6 pound heads, dependent on spacing. Plants are erect and a strong stem hold heads off the ground. It is extra good for slaw since the leaves are not ribby. ‘Applause’ has looked good in the Southeast, both for fall and spring. Texas also looks good and we expect it to perform well throughout the Northeast. Matures in 78 days.

A strong root system keeps ‘Brennan’ looking fancy and uniform when crowded or stressed by too much rain. ‘Brennan’ is Bronco type with improved black rot tolerance and a slightly more compact. A medium-large, waxy dark-green. ‘Brennan’ is widely adapted with a short core and a dense interior. It’s great for the RPC business, as it is a smaller very dense head.
