Cranberry Organization Names New Leadership

Tim Feit

The United Cranberry Growers Cooperative (UCGC) has hired Tim Feit as its new executive director. Formed in June 2010, the UCGC is an agricultural cooperative of independent cranberry growers. Mr. Feit will be the first executive director of the Wausau, WI-based cooperative.

Feit comes to the UCGC after nearly six years directing the marketing efforts of the Wisconsin Potato and Vegetable Growers Association as Director of Promotions. With more than 20 years of marketing and management experience, Feit is also a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point with a degree in Business Administration and an M.B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.

“Many of the challenges facing independent cranberry growers are similar to those facing growers in the potato and vegetable industry. I look forward to working with UCGC members to seek out opportunities that will allow them to remain economically sustainable,” says Feit.

Adds UCGC Chairperson Linda Prehn, “It has been almost two years since a group of ten Wisconsin cranberry growers decided to start the cooperative. Now that we have Tim onboard as our executive director we look forward to working together to help independent cranberry growers earn a fair price for their crop”.

Established in 2010, the United Cranberry Growers Cooperative is headquartered in Wausau, WI. UCGC is an agricultural cooperative of independent cranberry growers whose mission is to promote and increase the sale of cranberries worldwide; understand growers’ role in the supply of cranberries; and act as a leader and the voice of independent cranberry growers worldwide.
