Border Agents Find 6,500 Pounds Of Marijuana In Citrus Load

U.S. Border Patrol agents discovered more than 6,500 pounds of marijuana in a citrus load in Falfurrias, TX, according to the Borderfire Report.

A tractor-trailer rig pulled into the Falfurrias Border Patrol checkpoint for inspection, where a Border Patrol canine alerted agents to the possible presence of narcotics or other contraband coming from the tractor-trailer. The vehicle was referred to secondary inspection where agents discovered an estimated $5,250,800 worth of marijuana concealed within the load of citrus the trailer was carrying.

The Drug Enforcement Administration assumed custody of one adult male, the contraband, and the tractor-trailer.
