The co-op, owned by Doyle Farms, Teeple Farms, Tree Crisp Orchards, Wafler Farms, and VanFleet Orchards, hosted an open house, showing off its new six-lane packingline, which features an external defect sorter.

The packinghouse is one of at least four new facilities to go online in the state over the past two years, as the state’s apple industry keeps up with rapidly increasing consumer demand for New York apples.

The operation will employ 46 people, including 21 new positions, creating jobs in an area that desperately needs them.

New York Apple Sales with be the marketing agency for the co-op, selling its apples predominately in the Eastern U.S. and exporting to the UK, Singapore and India.
