Absorbent Polymer Help Increase Yields

The best pepper growth is said to take place in deep, medium-textured sandy loam or loamy, fertile well-drained soils offering plants physical support, nutrition, and a consistent level of soil moisture.

Peppers don’t like too much water, so successful growers raise them in beds to facilitate drainage; however, in dry periods it means adding additional irrigation and/or absorbent polymers to keep soil moisture consistent.

Trials using Stockosorb from Evonik have shown that absorbent polymers in soil increased pepper yield by up to 32%. According to Evonik, Stockosorb prevents plants from drying out, and, in addition to vegetables, it also can be in the production of ornamental plants and trees.
