EPA has granted registration for a new DuPont disease control active ingredient, oxathiapiprolin, which will be marketed under the trademark Zorvec.

The new fungicide is the first member of a new class of fungicides which represents a step change improvement in disease control for growers of potatoes, grapes, vegetables, and other specialty crops.

“DuPont’s Zorvec has unique properties which will deliver visible results for growers. It will change everything about the way farmers view disease control,” said Rik Miller, president, DuPont Crop Protection. “Zorvec is another powerful tool from DuPont Crop Protection’s discovery pipeline that will help address the challenge of producing high-quality crops to feed a growing world population.”

Pending regulatory approval, the company plans on launching the disease control product in several countries including Mexico, China, and Australia later this year.
