The Cream Of The Crop

Just last year, we awarded Anthony Farms of Scandinavia, WI, American Vegetable Grower magazine’s sixth annual Grower Achievement Award. The year before that, it was Teixeira Farms of Sacramento, CA. Both of these operations not only work hard to ensure their operation’s success, they also have made tremendous contributions to the industry.

Now it is time to begin the process of determining the 2008 Grower Achievement Award winner.

In the past, growers nominated for the award were on the cutting edge, looking to find solutions to today’s problems. In addition, nominees have always been committed to excellence, and excellence isn’t easy to come by.

Honoring Growers

The Grower Achievement Award is sponsored by Syngenta Seeds/ROGERS Brand, in cooperation with United Fresh Produce Association (United). The program honors operations that have taken production agriculture to new levels of innovation, are committed to food quality and safety, and have adapted the latest technology on their farm. On top of that, these growers are leaders in the industry and are involved in helping the communities in which they live and work.

Do you know of an operation that possesses many of those qualities? If the answer is, “Yes,” or you want to find out more about the award program, go to  www.growerachievementaward.com or call 440-602-9216. The national winner will be announced at United’s Washington Public Policy Conference in September 2008.
