Figuring Out Florida’s Citrus Fruit Drop
During the 2013 Florida Citrus Show, Dr. Gene Albrigo, citrus horticulturist emeritus for UF/IFAS, presented his theory on why this season’s fruit drop has been so extreme. It is the worst year for drop since 1969, lowering USDA production projections by 10% compared to last season.
