Penn State Fruit Research And Extension Center Unveils New Website

Penn State Fruit Research and Extension Center has unveiled a new website. The site, cultivated by Penn State’s College of Agricultural Sciences, greets visitors with a vibrant photo and leads them through the page with a user-friendly tool bar on the left-hand side of the site. This tool bar provides an array of links such as the growing season update link, which highlights insects and diseases. The information is updated weekly so readers can access to-the-moment insect hatch rates and insect bytes, a spotlight on the insect-of-the-moment’s status.

In addition to the growing season update link on the left side of the homepage, users will find a resources link that, when clicked, provides valuable on-line publications and spreadsheets useful to commercial growers and researchers alike as well as visual presentations from winter meetings.

Among other things, the site also allows readers to subscribe to the Fruit Times, an agricultural news source that sends fruit production alerts straight to members’ inboxes.
