Championing Women Who are Taking Agriculture to a New Level

The agricultural workforce is changing, and women are playing an increasingly prominent role in shaping its future. Whether as growers, researchers, engineers, or entrepreneurs, women across the country are making vital contributions to an industry that feeds the world and sustains rural economies. According to the USDA’s most recent Census of Agriculture from 2022, nearly 30% of U.S. farmers are women, and that number continues to rise. With this growth comes a powerful opportunity to champion diversity, inclusion, and advancement in an industry that thrives on innovation.
At Meister Media Worldwide, we are proud to support and amplify the voices of women in agriculture through dedicated coverage, events, and strategic partnerships. From editorial features to conference programming and award sponsorships, we are committed to helping elevate the women who are breaking barriers and building the future of ag.
One exciting example of this is our involvement in FIRA USA 2025, taking place Oct. 21-23 in Woodland, CA. Now in its fourth year, this event is a leading North American conference focused on agricultural automation and robotics, relevant for fruit and specialty crop growers facing mounting challenges related to labor, regulation, and operational efficiency.
FIRA USA offers a unique opportunity to see advanced technologies in action, hear from the developers and researchers behind them, and engage in critical conversations about what’s next for ag automation. Meister Media is proud to return as a media sponsor and to help facilitate meaningful connections across the industry. This year, FIRA introduces a new initiative that underscores the importance of inclusion and recognition: the inaugural Women in AgRobotics of the Year Award. This award will honor women making significant contributions to the field of agricultural robotics, from founders and engineers to researchers, growers, and industry leaders. By spotlighting women’s influence in this fast-growing field, FIRA USA hopes to encourage more women to enter, innovate, and lead in agricultural robotics. The award recipient will be announced during the 2025 event.
This momentum aligns perfectly with the global spotlight coming in 2026, when the International Year of the Woman Farmer will be formally recognized. A joint initiative between the USDA and the United Nations (UN), this effort will highlight the critical, yet often underappreciated, role women play in global food production. It will also draw attention to persistent challenges, including access to land, credit, and leadership opportunities. As we approach 2026, Meister Media will be collaborating with partners such as the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (UN FAO) to ensure that coverage of these issues is informative, credible, and action oriented.
To kick off this broader conversation, Meister Media will be hosting the Women in Ag Tech (WiAT) Vision Conference, Jan. 12-14 in Glendale, AZ. This one-day event will convene women from across the ag tech ecosystem for a day of insights, relationship-building, and empowerment. From interactive team activities to expert-led discussions on emerging technologies and career growth, the event is designed to create space for collaboration and leadership development in a dynamic and welcoming environment. Supporting women in agriculture isn’t a trend, it’s an investment in the future of food production. As we look ahead to the coming year, we invite you to join us in celebrating the women transforming this industry and working together to build a stronger, more inclusive agricultural landscape.
