MSU Researchers Predict Later First Green For Apples

Michigan State University Extension educators Amy Irish-Brown and Phil Schwallier predict that western Michigan is behind the average for green tip dates.

According to Schwallier, the average date for first green in western Michigan is April 11. In 2012, the first green date was March 17. Irish-Brown and Schwallier see the first green date might be met by April 21.
