USDA: California Raisin Varieties Up 25.5%

According to the Raisin Grape Objective Measurement (O.M.) Survey conducted in July by the USDA, the California raisin-type variety grape forecast is 2.40 million tons, up 25.5% from the 2012 final production.

The measurment survey indicated that a record 47.7 bunches per vine are forecasted, an increase from 29.1 bunches per vine in 2012 in California. Bearing age raisin grapes comprise 200,000 acres.
