American Takii Breaks Ground On New Seed Processing Facility

American Takii recently held a groundbreaking ceremony to mark the start of construction for a new office building and state-of-the-art facility to allow for the expansion of seed processing, warehousing, and shipping operations at its facility in Salinas, CA.

This expansion will enable American Takii to be a world-wide distribution center for the vegetable and flower seed products of Takii & Company, Ltd. Design and construction of the new building is by Ausonio Incorporated of Castroville, CA. The new facility is slated to operate by fall of 2015.

Leading the groundbreaking ceremony was American Takii’s General Manager and COO Steve Wiley, CFO Glen Marks, along with Ausonio’s Vice President and Senior Project Manager Ignacio “Mog” Cabatu and President Andrew Ausonio. Staff from both American Takii and Ausonio were on hand to celebrate the occasion.

Wiley stated, “As Takii and Company moves ahead into our 180th year, we look forward to this strategic expansion which will enable more efficient processing and facilitate global distribution of Takii’s vegetable and flower seeds. This facility will enable us to eliminate bottlenecks in the logistics process and move seed orders to our customers more quickly.”
