Late blight hotline updates include a variety of information about weather threats, disease pressures, and scouting, as well as other expert advice. In addition, the hotlines provide locally specific information for five key potato-growing regions. Because these updates are area specific, growers can utilize them to make more informed management decisions.

The updates are accessible with a phone call to the following numbers:

  • University of Idaho: 800-791-7195
  • Mid-Michigan Consulting: 888-379-9012
  • North Dakota State University: 888-482-7286
  • Oregon State University: 800-705-3377
  • Washington State University: 800-984-7400

“The researchers that contribute updates to these hotlines have shared a great deal of knowledge and insight over the years,” said Kiran Shetty, Ph.D., Syngenta technical development lead. “The hotlines are a great way for Syngenta to help make sure their expertise is readily available to the growers that need it.”
