Citrus Foliage Inventory
Wellington, FL-based Integrated GIS has created a citrus foliage inventory tool utilizing a commercial distance measuring sensor operated by a proprietary software program that measures the height and density of foliage. In addition, a chlorophyll sensor gauges foliage health. Decision-driven data is processed into a citrus management production strategy that will show growers where to put production inputs within a block. As of this posting, a camera system that will record an image of foliage is in final stages of testing.
TMX-2050
Trimble has launched an Android-based operating environment with a suite of mobile applications for its TMX-2050 display, allowing users greater flexibility to customize the display for their farming operations. The streamlined workflow and new apps will help increase operator productivity while leveraging the included Connected Farm solutions package that offers management functionality through an operating system designed for connectivity. If needed, growers also can access third-party apps on the TMX-2050 display, providing localized solutions for specific farming tasks.
HiPer V
Topcon Precision Agriculture’s HiPer V base station is designed to offer a compact, cable-free solution for GPS + Global Navigation Satellite System corrections. HiPer V features Vanguard technology with 226-universal channel flexibility. It is capable of both base and rover applications and is comprised of a durable magnesium alloy construction.
