Tell Your Story Of Ag Innovation

March 19, 2013 marks the annual celebration of National Agriculture Day in America. It is a time for the ag industry to reflect on its role in society and to reach out to the non-farming public to build stronger ties between the farm and the city.

Ag Day also is a time to reflect on the remarkable innovation that has occurred in agriculture over the years. Statistics show this amazing progress. Today, one American farmer feeds more than 144 people. In the 1960s, the number was only 25. Every year, more stories of agricultural breakthroughs push productivity, efficiency, and stewardship higher.

But, what about stories of innovation on your farm? The National Museum of American History wants to hear them and has launched the Agricultural Innovation And Heritage Archive. The archive is an online repository designed to collect stories on the history of modern farming and ranching practices. Visitors to the site can view archived stories or submit their own experiences about farm life and work.
