Consumers will love these tasty offerings from American Takii, and growers will love their disease resistance.
Trekker, a hybrid onion, is an early- to mid-season maturing, long-day, storage-type variety. Uniform, its extra firm bulbs are globe shaped with dark skin and an attractive sheen. Trekker will store until May under optimum conditions. It offers resistance to basal and neck rot.
Ruby Ball Improved is an early maturing hybrid cabbage. Heads are dark red, globe shaped, and solid, weighing around 3.5 pounds. Plants are medium compact, with an upright habit, and good wrap leaves protect heads.
An Eastern shipper type cantaloupe, Fantasista is sweet (Brix between 12% and 14%) with deep-orange flesh for high consumer appeal. Fantasista is resistant to Fusarium race 0 and 2 and has intermediate resistance to powdery mildew. Uniform fruit are produced on a vigorous plant.
Early Mizuna is a fall to winter crop with vigorous growth and high yields. Boasting light green with serrated leaves, this mustard spinach has a prolific branching habit. Mild and tasty when young, it adds a nice flavor to salads and becomes only mildly mustardy when mature.
