A New American And Western Fruit Grower For 2015

American and Western Fruit Grower January 2015A lot has been happening here at American and Western Fruit Grower over the last several months. We launched the GenNext Growers program to help develop the next wave of owners and managers who’ll be leading our industry over the next few decades. We just finished the inaugural FruitGrowerConnect event in San Diego and we’re busy preparing to host the Biocontrols 2015 Conference & Tradeshow in Fresno, CA, in March. Last fall, we completely overhauled our website, GrowingProduce.com to make it easier for you to find and use the information you need to grow your business.

But one of the biggest developments is the new design for American/Western Fruit Grower magazine. Changing the design of our brand’s flagship product is not something we take lightly. We’ve spent months talking with readers, discussing goals, and working through different ideas and options, all with the same focus: creating a more useful tool for your business.

A new logo and look are the most obvious changes. We think you’ll like the cleaner, easier-to-read publication. A new, more organized flow will help you find information on the crops you grow. In every issue, following the cover story, you’ll find our GenNext Growers coverage, followed by broader, important topics that cover multiple crops and regions. After that, you’ll find specific coverage of pome fruit, grapes, stone fruit, berries and nuts.

We’ve refreshed and expanded our Editorial Advisory Board to ensure we’re keeping up with the needs and the demographic mix of our readers. These board members advise us regularly on content ideas and the direction of our brand. To get a feel for the expertise they bring to the table, check out our 2015 Industry Outlook. Board members share their thoughts on the top issues you’ll be seeing in your crops and regions this year.

We’re proud of our expert contributors. American and Western Fruit Grower is a national publication, but we also offer a vast amount of regional expertise in the magazine. We featured the contributions of more than 60 experts from all over the country in American and Western Fruit Grower last year, and will be adding a number of new voices here in 2015.

In previous years, our columnists were generally grouped in the back of the book, but now you’ll find a multitude of expert contributors appearing throughout the issue based on the topics they’re covering. Again, we hope this makes it easier for you to glean the information you need to make your business better.

In the end, that’s what this new design is all about — everything you see in American and Western Fruit Grower is designed to provide the new techniques, products and ideas that will help you be a more progressive, more efficient, and more profitable grower.

That won’t stop with the launch of this new design. We’ll continue to evolve as your business, your needs, and your markets do.
