Video: Apple Girl Kait’s View Amid Massive PNW Wildfires

Wildfires have set parts of the Pacific Northwest ablaze in the last week. The jet stream-fueled infernos are threatening the lives, properties, and livelihoods of many. And the fires are still burning with little to no containment. Kaitlyn Thornton’s family apple orchard and ranch in Tonasket, WA, is in the thick of the western wildfire zone. Her POV on the serious situation is unique and personal. Unfortunately, her family’s farm and apple trees did not escape unscathed.

According to a recent post on her LinkedIn page, Thornton says, the Sinlahekin fire has blazed through her county — “now over 100k acres.”

She continues, “Thank you to everyone who has reached out, we are okay here.”

On her Facebook page, Thornton also shared the following: “This fire is far from over, my heart hurts for the PNW. So many have lost their homes This is a time to come together, and I am seeing firsthand the best of humanity through these tragedies. So so proud of my community. HUGE thank you to everyone who has called, texted, prayed, and sent positivity our way the last couple of days. We have lots to repair and replace, but we have so much to be thankful for.”
