Arizona Pistachio And Pecan Growers Benefiting From High Prices

Nut growers in Arizona are enjoying the growth in demand of tree nuts with prices soaring in the past 10 years. According to The Arizona Republic, pistachio prices have increased from $2.25 to $5.50. Pecan prices have risen from $3 a pound to $5.40.

Arizona ranks fourth in terms of pecan production in the U.S. That figure is expected to double to 40 million pounds in 2025.

One of the largest pecan farms in the world, Green Valley Pecan Co., is located in Sahuarita, AZ. Plantings are increasing in Cochise County as growers seek a piece of the favorable nut market.
