Variety Spotlight on Two New Blueberries for Growers

This month at World Ag Expo 2015, Nikkel Iron Works will introduce the Nut Crowder, a Top 10 New Product winner that helps reduce crop loss and labor.

Developed by Nikkel Iron Works Corp., the TR521 Nut Crowder will be unveiled at World Ag Expo, Feb. 10-12, at O Street 32. The Nut Crowder, patent pending, was designed in response to input from nut growers who were frustrated with spillage at lane end that required hand labor to collect.

“Every nut has a value and growers are seeking a money-saving solution,” noted Karl Almquist, general manager for Nikkel Iron Works. “The Nut Crowder Model TR521 is the easy-to-use, low-maintenance solution.

“Turn row clean-up takes seconds with the Nut Crowder compared to minutes with a hand crew. We developed the Nut Crowder with grower input, and have tested it in local orchards so we know what a difference it makes in efficiency and profitability.”

Model TR521 is the first implement developed under the new Tule River Orchard Equipment division of Nikkel Iron Works, which has been based in the farming community of Shafter, CA, for 92 years. Nikkel is best known for the durable-yet-gentle DARF hay rake, now available through dealers across the West and Midwest.
