Agro-K Adds Technical Nutrition Expert
February 22, 2013 Agro-K Corp. has announced the addition of Dr. Richard Warner to the field and technical development staff of the Minneapolis-based crop nutrition company, a pioneer for more than 35 years in developing unique micronutrient formulations and soil microbiology improvement products.
“As Agro-K’s National Research Coordinator and Technical Services Coordinator, Warner will help design, organize, and lead our field research and further enhance our national research database,” said Chapman Mayo, Agro-K president. “He also will provide technical support to the Agro-K sales force.
“Dr. Warner has excellent background in field trial design, execution, and analysis. His expertise will be used to provide quality data to support and reinforce our plant physiology-based, science-driven nutritional approach. He will also take the lead in field development of new products, and his experience in database development will be invaluable.”
Prior to joining Agro-K, Warner was a research scientist and field development representative for Bayer CropScience for 12 years, based in the Fresno, CA, area. Earlier he was a commercial development representative for Mycogen Crop Protection. Warner helped develop innovative approaches and protocols for the use of products for grapes, citrus, nuts, fruit, vegetables, and other high-value crops as well as field corn, soybeans, and cotton. His work over more than 20 years has included extensive collaboration with university, Extension, and USDA researchers, and pest control advisers.
Warner graduated from San Diego State University with his B.S. and M.S. in biology, and then received his Ph.D. from the University of California-Riverside in economic entomology with minors in acarology and plant pathology.
