Stephen Stresow-Cortez is a PhD student and Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems Fellow at Michigan State University. His dissertation, “Up high, down low, too slow: agroecological nutrient management in vegetable production,” takes a bird’s-eye view of how we grow veggies, the effects on soil health, and how we can speed up implementing sustainable solutions. He grew up in El Paso, Texas before earning a BS and MPS from Cornell University. He enjoys bird watching, hiking, cooking, foraging, and, clearly, all things Star Wars.
