Time magazine reports apples are the top fruit kids and teens eat. The article details the results of a recent study in the journal Pediatrics, the publication of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

The survey looked at the eating habits of more than 3,000 children and teens aged 2-19. The results showed that apples accounted for 18.9% of fruit intake, the most common fruit. The survey also discovered that 90% of children and teens fruit intake came from whole fruits or fruit juice.

The survey also found that apples made up a larger percentage of total fruit intake of children aged 6-11, compared with other age brackets.
