Syngenta Offers $5,000 Essay Contest

For the fourth consecutive year, Syngenta is offering a great opportunity to future leaders in agriculture – a $5,000 Syngenta Potato Scholarship for the best student essay addressing the issues of building and sustaining consumer demand for potatoes.

“Syngenta is proud to continue its partnership with the potato industry by awarding this scholarship to an upcoming leader in agriculture,” said Steve Gomme, Syngenta potato portfolio head. “The creativity and enthusiasm in the essay applications are always impressive and showcase the bright future of young leaders in agriculture.”

The scholarship is available to students who reside or attend school in one of the following states: Colorado, Idaho, Maine, Michigan, North Dakota, Oregon, Washington or Wisconsin. To be considered, applicants must meet one of the following requirements: 1) high school senior involved in the potato-growing industry or a member of 4-H or FFA; or 2) college freshman, sophomore or junior involved in the potato-growing industry or a member of 4-H or FFA.
