Washington OKs Growth Products’ BioNutrients For Organic Use
June 25, 2013 Washington State Department of Agriculture (WSDA) recently approved Growth Products Ltd.’s BioNutrients Soluble AG 8-1-9 as a registered material for use in organic agriculture. The product is included on a list of products that the WSDA has determined to comply with The National Organic Standards [7 CFR Part 205].
Introduced in 2011, BioNutrients is a 100% organic microbial inoculant and soil conditioner designed for all vegetable, herb, field, and permanent crops. BioNutrients is a concentrated probiotic formula with an organic base that enriches soil and act as a food source for soil microbes. It contains five plant growth-promoting (PGPR) species of rhizosphere bacteria (B. subtilis GB03, B. subtilis, B. amyloliquefaciens, B. lincheniformis, and Bacillus pumilus and yeast),a natural wetting agent, L-amino acids, humic acids, and kelp extracts the company promotes to help increase and sustain microbial activity.
Available in 8 oz. packages and in larger E-Z pail sizes, the soluble formulation of BioNutrients dissolves quickly in water, and can be tank-mixed with most pesticides, fertilizers, and micronutrients. It can be applied as a drench at planting or as a spray at critical points in the crop’s growth cycle.
