New Organic Insect Control

A new and effective solution has been found for organic growers in need of protection from brown marmorated stink bugs, aphids, thrips, whiteflies, leaf miners and caterpillars. Azera, an insecticide from Mclaughlin Gormley King (MGK) is highly effective on high-value organic fruits and vegetables including strawberries, grapes, apples, lettuce, tomatoes, broccoli and spinach and has no restrictions on its usage. With a unique formulation of botanical extracts, Azera provides growers with the flexibility to apply as-needed without effecting harvest schedules.

Azera is a fast-acting, contact kill spray with insect growth regulator (IGR) activity and the ability to kill upon ingestion. “Organic growers have had limited options for effectively and consistently managing crop-damaging insects in the past,” says John Buenneke, crop protection market manager for MGK. “In addition, Azera gives growers the flexibility to harvest the same day they spray and apply as often as necessary.”

Available in 2012, Azera has been approved by both major organic certification bodies and can be used on virtually any crop as needed.
