Bankrupt Florida Farm To Yield Plenty Of Land, Equipment In Upcoming Auction

A once bustling, 1,151-acre farm in Southwest Florida will be broken up into pieces and offered at auction this September.

The auctions are part of Chapter 11 proceedings for Grainger Farms Inc., Grainger Land LLC, and SamAnn Farms LLC.

Murray Wise Associates LLC will conduct the auction in cooperation with Crosby & Associates Inc., and Weeks Auction Co. Inc.

The farm, which stretches between Hendry and Collier counties just outside of Immokalee, will sell in seven tracts, ranging from 78 to 307 acres. The equipment sale includes numerous tractors, sprayers, irrigation pumps, motors, and other well maintained farm machinery.

According to Ken Nofziger, president of Murray Wise Associates, the land comprises about 901 acres planted (753 acres in vegetable crops and 148 acres planted in citrus).

The three tracts on the western (Collier County) side are 70% plantable, with a 7.5-acre storage yard and equipment shed. The Hendry County land consists of four tracts that are 90% plantable, and includes a 5 acre radio tower location that generates significant annual cash flow.
