100 Years of Innovation: Equipment That Keeps Olejnik Farms and Greenhouses Growing Strong
Founded in 1926, Olejnik Farms and Greenhouses in Macomb, MI, is proudly celebrating 100 years of growing. A fifth-generation family farm, it is owned and operated by third-generation owners Pat Olejnik, Sharon, and her husband Steve. The farm grows corn, tomatoes, peppers, pickles, cucumbers, pumpkins, squash, other vegetables, and cut flowers, while the greenhouses are filled with annuals, vegetable starter plants, and fall mums — continuing a century-long family legacy.
In their own words, here are some vital pieces of farm equipment that play a vital role in daily operations at Olejnik Farms and Greenhouses.
Kubota

Our Kubota tractor is used for all things on the farm, working ground, planting, spraying and of course giving little Ellie a tractor ride!

Hi-Low

The hi-low that’s used for unloaded pallets of dirt off the semi or basically anything heavy that needs to be moved.
Ford Tractor

Our Ford Tractor is used for planting and working ground.
Kubota 4×4

Our favorite thing on the farm and probably most used is our Kubota 4×4. It’s used from picking corn, tomatoes, etc. to hauling garbage out or just checking out the crops.
Scissor Lift

This is used when we have to cover the greenhouses with new plastic or repair holes in the plastic.
John Deere Skidsteer

We use the John Deere Skidsteer for hauling things, grating the driveway, loading gravel, and any little jobs around the farm.
