Adams Apple® Red Delicious

A Van Well Nursery exclusive introduction, Adams Apple is a sport of Oregon Spur II Red Delicious. This patented strain just may be the earliest, highest-coloring Red Delicious available. It is red from petal fall to picking and produces large, typey fruit with very white, juicy flesh. This is the Red Delicious for growers in poor coloring areas. USPP#14757.

Auvil Early Fuji®

Discovered by Orondo, WA’s Grady Auvil, this Fuji sport matures about six weeks ahead of standard Red Fuji yet produces a higher percentage of Washington Extra Fancy grade fruit. Fruit flavor, tree structure, and growth habits appear to be identical to other Red Fuji sports. USPP#10141.

Gale Gala®

This patented strain is the highest-coloring Gala sport currently on the market and permits “one-pick” harvests with packouts in the 95% to 100% Washington Extra Fancy grade for color. A Bing sport discovered by Bob Brown on Stemilt Hill outside Wenatchee, WA, this exclusive Van Well Nursery introduction matures 21 to 25 days later than Bing. Quality, flavor, appearance, and size are all similar to Bing. USPP#15386.
