Fresh Apple Holdings Down From Last Year

U.S. fresh-market apple holdings of 78.5 million bushels on Jan. 1, 2011, reflect a 4% decrease compared to January 2010 holdings of 81.6 million bushels, and were 1% less than the five-year average of 79.3 million bushels on Jan. 1.

Total processing apple holdings as of Jan. 1, 2011, were 31.8 million bushels, 10% below those on Jan. 1, 2010 and 16% below the five-year average for that date.
