Meet The New Miss Florida Citrus

Summer Foley gets crowned Miss Florida Citrus 2015 by 2004 winner Nikki Upthegrove Matthews and reigning Miss Florida Vicotria CowenThe first Miss Florida Citrus since 2004 was chosen Saturday night at the Ritz Theatre in Winter Haven. Summer Foley, 17, of Ormond Beach was crowned by the 2004 Miss Florida Citrus, Nikki Upthegrove Matthews, during the Miss America preliminary pageant.

Foley was sponsored by Florida’s Natural Growers and will go on to represent the industry in the Miss Florida Pageant, which takes place June 16-20 in St. Petersburg. The winner of that pageant advances to the Miss America Pageant in September.

“We’re happy to continue the tradition of Miss Florida Citrus and are excited to have Summer Foley representing the industry in the upcoming Miss Florida Pageant,” said Brenda Eubanks Burnette, Florida Citrus Hall of Fame executive director and past Florida Citrus Queen.

Foley’s court consisted of 1st runner-up, Taylor Pohl from Wauchula; 2nd runner-up, Danielle Ball of Wellington; 3rd runner-up, Anne-Marie Campbell of West Palm Beach; 4th runner-up, Keilany Francis of Pembroke Pines; and Taylor Brown of Avon Park, winner of the non-finalist talent award.2015 Miss Florida Citrus Court featuring winner Summer Foley

Judging criteria included a personal interview, evening gown, talent, and swimsuit, along with an on-stage question. Reigning Miss Florida Victoria Cowen and David Lang of Regalia Magnificent Apparel emceed the event.
