Wish Farms Wins Award for Its Ag-Environmental Leadership Efforts

Florida Commissioner of Agriculture Wilton Simpson has announced longtime berry industry leader Wish Farms as the 2025 winner of the Agricultural-Environmental Leadership Award. Wish Farms is a fourth-generation, family-owned company based in Plant City, FL.

The Agricultural-Environmental Leadership Award has been presented annually since 1994 and spotlights environmentally innovative growers and ranchers who share a commitment to protecting and preserving Florida’s resources while continuing to produce world-class agricultural goods.

“Wish Farms exemplifies the innovation and stewardship that make Florida agriculture a national leader,” says  Simpson. “Their commitment to sustainable farming practices, conservation, and environmental responsibility ensures that future generations will continue to enjoy the high-quality produce our state is known for. It is an honor to recognize them as the 2025 winner of the Agricultural-Environmental Leadership Award.”

Wish Farms grows and markets strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, and pineberries supplying fresh fruit across North America. Wish Farms’ Plant City cooler and warehouse features a rooftop solar array, consisting of more than 2,100 panels covering 80,000 square feet. It produces 1.6 gigawatts of energy per year, enough to power 117 homes.

The growing operation is committed to sustainability, implementing innovative farming practices to conserve water, reduce waste, and protect natural resources. Through its “Grower First” philosophy and community outreach efforts, Wish Farms continues to uphold its mission of providing “Feel Good Fruit” while being a responsible steward of the environment.

Wish Farms will be recognized for the award by Commissioner Simpson at the Fresh From Florida Breakfast in October during the Florida Farm Bureau annual meeting.
