WAEF Welcomes Three New Board Members

The Washington Apple Education Foundation (WAEF) has added a trio of new board members.

The new members are Welcome Sauer, Executive VP/Business Development at Gebbers Farms, who headed up the Washington Apple Commission prior to its being stripped of domestic marketing activities about a decade ago; Richard Gonzales, Senior Director of Global Food Sourcing at Walmart; and Dwaine Brown, Chief Financial Officer for Tree Top.

The Washington Apple Education Foundation (WAEF) is the charity of Washington’s tree fruit industry. Their mission is to improve lives through access to educational opportunities.

Currently 72 college students are receiving WAEF scholarships. The WAEF has awarded a total of 187 scholarships through the years. The total dollar value of scholarships awarded to date is nearly half a million dollars.
