According to the 2025 American Vegetable Grower State of the Industry survey, many growers reported actively using ag tech tools to improve their operations. Here’s what you had to tell us.

Weather Station

33.33% of growers currently use weather stations, with 20% planning to buy one. These stations provide real-time weather data to help optimize irrigation and protect crops.


Sensors

Sensors were one of the most popular answers, broken down into categories as follows: Temperature (26%), Water (24%), Humidity (23%), Soil (20%), and Light (13%).

Drones, used by 17% of growers, help with crop scouting, imaging, and targeted spraying to improve field monitoring and treatment.


Automations

Growers use automation and robotics for tasks like:

  • sorting and packing 5%
  • seeding and planting 5%
  • harvesting and picking 8%
  • weed control, thinning, mowing, pruning, and spraying 9%.
